Exporting

Your data is yours. All My Books writes the collection out in several formats, and none of them are ever blocked by the licence state — export works in free mode as well. Only the books currently visible are exported, so filter the collection first if you want a subset.

HTML

Tools › Export to… › Export to HTML… (Ctrl+H) produces a web page: pick one of the six supplied templates or the plain Simple table, choose the fields, set the output file and click Go!. The styled templates are responsive, and Interactive adds live search to the page itself. Details in Sharing with friends.

CHM

Export to CHM (compiled HTML)… (Ctrl+L) packs the same report, covers included, into a single Windows help file — one file to send or archive.

PDF

Export to PDF… (Ctrl+F) opens the same window as printing, with the same report templates, and saves the result as a PDF instead of sending it to a printer. See Printing.

Microsoft Excel

Export to Microsoft Excel… (Ctrl+X) writes a real .xlsx workbook. Excel itself does not have to be installed — All My Books writes the file directly, and it opens in Excel, LibreOffice, Google Sheets or anything else that reads the format. This is the format to use when you want to sort, count or chart the collection somewhere else.

Plain text

Export to plaintext… (Ctrl+T) writes a delimited text file: choose the fields and the separator (tab, comma or semicolon). The format everything else can read.

To the mobile app

Export to the mobile device… (Ctrl+M) sends the collection to the All My Books app for Android and iOS, so the catalog is in your pocket in the bookshop. A wizard walks you through it:

1. Choose how to transfer — over the internet through your account, or as a file you copy across yourself.
2. For the online route, sign in with your e-mail and password (the wizard can send you one if you have not got it yet).
3. Choose which books to send.
4. Wait while the file is prepared and uploaded.
5. Open the app on the phone and sign in with the same details.
