Directories menu
The lists behind the drop-downs of the book card. Keeping them tidy keeps the collection tidy — grouping and filtering work on these values.

Everybody in the collection: authors, translators, editors,
illustrators. Each has a card with an alternative spelling of the name,
birth and death dates, birthplace, photos, biography and bibliography.
Biography and photo can be downloaded from
Wikipedia / Wikidata or OpenLibrary.org; OpenLibrary also gives
the alternative name, life dates and a web site. When a book is found on
OpenLibrary.org, its authors' details come along and fill the empty fields
of their cards. When several people match a name, a window with the
candidates opens and you pick the right one.
The search box above the list finds people by name (Ctrl+F jumps to it). With ticked it also looks in biographies, comments, bibliographies and birthplaces; if nothing is found among the names, the program offers to search the details as well. |

Several photos of a person
A person can have any number of photos. In the person's Name card the picture on the General tab has buttons underneath:
- the arrows (Previous photo,
Next photo) step through the photos, and the counter
between them shows which one you are looking at, for example
2 / 3; - Add photo… adds photos from files — you can pick several at once.
Click the picture itself for a menu: Add photo from file… and Add photo from clipboard add a new photo, Set image from file… and Paste image replace the photo on screen, Set as main photo moves it to the first place, and Delete image… removes it. The first photo is the main one: it heads the person's card and is the one in the pop-up over the person's name in the book card, and a photo downloaded from the internet replaces it.
In the Persons directory the card on the right shows the main photo at the top and the other photos as a gallery at the bottom. Click any photo to see it enlarged.
Imports leave duplicates behind — the same author under two spellings, the same publisher twice. Every directory has a Merge command: pick the spelling to keep and every book that used the other one is moved over.
