Collection statistics

Tools › Statistics… (F5) summarises the collection: how many books there are, how they split up by any field you like, and who currently has your books.

Statistics window showing a chart of books by subject
Any field of the book card can be charted.

Chart

Pick a field under Show — subject, author, publisher, year, binding, language, series, location, rating and so on — and All My Books counts the books for each value and draws them. Chart type switches between Bar and Pie, and Sort by count orders the biggest groups first instead of alphabetically.

The chart follows the program theme, so it stays readable with the dark theme switched on.

General

The plain-numbers view: total number of books, and breakdowns by Binding type, Subject, Publisher and Year side by side.

Debtors

Who has your books and what they took. Double-click a book here to mark it as returned — useful when a book came back and nobody updated the card. The same information, with dates and history, is in Tools › Loan history; see Lending a book.

Custom fields

The same counting applied to the text and flag fields you added yourself in Tools › Preferences › Custom fields. See Setting up preferences.

Statistics are calculated over the whole collection, not over the current filter. Use Refresh after adding books while the window is open.
