Copying movie files

Choosing what to take on a trip is a job for the catalog, not for Explorer. Pick the movies in the list, and the program copies their video files wherever you point it.

Tools › Copy movie files…, or Ctrl+J.

  1. Choose the source: All movies or Selected only. Series are handled as well, with their episode files.
  2. Choose the destination drive. Show all available drives reveals drives the program hides by default; the free space on the target is shown so you know whether it will fit.
  3. Decide about folders: Create a folder with a Title puts each film in its own folder named after it, and Use the same folder name keeps the folder structure the files already have.
  4. Start the copy. Progress and the estimated time remaining are shown.

Only movies with a filled-in Local path can be copied — there is nothing to copy for a disc on a shelf. If the list comes up empty, that is why.

Combine it with a filter: switch on Quick filter › Show Unseen, select everything, and copy the unwatched films to the tablet. Or select a season of a series and take that. Renaming the files first with a template means they arrive on the device with readable names.
