All My Movies 8.0: Edit Many Movies at Once and Flip Through Your Collection in Cover Flow

The new version lets collectors change hundreds of movies in one go, flip through the collection cover by cover, and put their video files in order with template-based renaming.

August 20, 2014 — Bolide Software today released All My Movies 8.0, a new major version of its movie organizer for Windows. All My Movies catalogs DVD and Blu-ray discs, video files and TV series, and fills in the details from online movie databases, so a whole collection can be built by typing titles.

Edit many movies at once

The most requested feature of recent years is here: select several movies, click the Edit button on the toolbar, and change almost any field in all of them at once. Setting the shelf for a box of discs, fixing a misspelled studio or marking a whole pile of movies as watched now takes seconds instead of an evening.

Cover Flow

A new collection view mode shows the movies as a row of covers that you flip through like records in a crate. It is a pleasure to use with a mouse and works especially well on Windows tablets and touch screens.

Tidy video files

"Tools - Batch rename movie files" renames movie and episode files by templates built from the catalog data — title, year, season and episode number, and so on — so the files on disk finally match the catalog.

• A button to clear the search field and cancel a filter in one click.
• People in the Names directory can be sorted by last name, and movies can be grouped by the director's last name.
• A click on the status bar scrolls to the last movie, a click on the empty space above the list — to the first one.
• Many smaller improvements and fixes.
