All My Books 6: The Home Library Catalog Rebuilt From the Ground Up

All My Books Logo

The biggest update in the program's history keeps the familiar interface, but under the hood everything is new: it is faster, sharp on 4K screens, has a dark theme, gets book and author details from more sources, and brings a collection over from Calibre and other catalogers in a few clicks.

September 10, 2026Bolide Software announces All My Books 6, a new major version of its book organizer for Windows; the current release is 6.1. All My Books catalogs a whole home library — printed books on the shelf, e-book files on the drives and audiobooks — and fills in the details automatically: type a title or an ISBN, or scan the barcode, and the cover, authors, publisher and synopsis are in the catalog a moment later.

Rebuilt on a modern platform

All My Books 6 has been rebuilt from the ground up on a modern development platform. The interface stays the one long-time users know, but the program behind it has been reworked completely. The book card opens about eight times faster and other dialogs two to four times faster; exporting a large collection to Excel takes 37 seconds instead of 13 minutes, and HTML and text export take seconds. The program is fully HiDPI-aware — it stays sharp on 4K displays and on several monitors with different scaling — and it gets a dark theme. The interface is available in 20 languages, and even the buttons of message dialogs now speak the user's language.

More sources, less typing

Moving in takes minutes

Imports from other collection managers are gathered in one menu: Calibre, Book Collector, Readerware, Booknizer, Medianizer, Alfa Ebooks Manager, BookCAT, the Sony Reader library and MyHomeLib. If one of these programs is found on the computer, All My Books offers to import from it, and an empty database explains where to start. Excel and CSV import and export no longer require Microsoft Office to be installed.

Safer data

Backups are now saved to a cloud-synced folder by default (OneDrive, Dropbox, Google Drive, Yandex.Disk), and the program warns if the working database itself sits in one. A damaged database is repaired automatically when it is opened instead of stopping the program at startup. Hundreds of bugs and freezes accumulated over the years have been fixed.

"Many of our users have kept their home library in All My Books for over fifteen years, so the interface they know stayed exactly where it was," says Max Smirnoff, founder of Bolide Software. "Everything underneath is new. The program is faster, it looks right on a 4K screen, and if your books already live in Calibre or another catalog, bringing them over is a matter of minutes."

Pricing and Availability

All My Books 6 runs on Windows 7, 8, 10 and 11 and is available now at https://www.bolidesoft.com/allmybooks.html. The first 30 days the program works without any limitations. After that it stays free, with a limit of 100 books in the database — viewing, search, statistics, printing and export always work.

A single license costs $29.95 per year or $59.95 as a one-time perpetual license with free updates; family licenses for up to six home computers cost $49.95 per year or $99.95 perpetual. Users switching from another book organizer get a 25% discount, and All My Books together with All My Movies costs $83.90 instead of $119.90.

Our customer say

Excellent

"Hello! I wouldn't know where to begin. AllMyBooks has gotten so much better... But in random order what I like best about the program:

The interface is excellent!

Updating book information through numerous sites (Goodreads/Google and so on) especially seeing as I have lots of old books without ISBN number

The fact you can add not only the cover of a book but also illustrations

The fact that you can add a Biography (with picture) of the author

The virtual shelf (my idea to have this added hope others enjoy it) And on and on. There is just too much to mention!!! Overall it helps me keep track of the books I have and the location they are in. I even uploaded all to my website so whenever I am in an antiquarian bookshop and want to buy a book from them, I can have a look to be sure I don't already have that particular book (I sometimes forget if I already have a book)!!!"
