Sorry to be such a noob, but I can't figure out the next step after installing and starting the Image Comparer. How do I begin to compare two images?

ok. You have Image Comparer opened.
Now click the "Compare folders" button.
In the new dialog window click "Add folder" button for each folder with images you want to compare between.
After this you have to click "Compare" button to start the comparison process
