I have the same problem. I cannot import my mkv and HD WMV movies.
I get similar messages as below and have to press cancel the import because the process seems to hang.

2.2 "Address": 00795EF2

2.4 "Type" : EDirectShowException
2.5 "Message": Niet nader omschreven fout ($80004005).
"Active Controls":

3.2 "Form Text" : Film kaart - Moviemeter.nl (Dutch)
3.3 "Control Class": TTeEdit
3.4 "Control Text" : Dorian Gray (2009) 1080p_R_KNORLOADING

Yes, v5.9 Build 1294
An addition to my previous post; after restarting AMM I get a different message when importing the same mkv movie; in dutch: "Kan dit bestandformaat niet openen. Waarschijnlijk heb je er geen codec voor".
However, I can play the movie with MPC-HC without any problems. Strangely enough I cannot reproduce the error I posted earlier and now I'm able to read the HD-WMV (VC-1) movies. |

AMM 5.9 Build 1294 is what I am using. Error message is "Cannot open this file format. Possibly you don't have a codec for it."
I can find nothing about how to add a codec to the program. |

Yeah, with MKV it must be the problem with codecs. As a roundabout you could try to activate the option "Do not render the movie with DirectShow" - menu Preferences - "Expert options" tab. But by doing this, you'll lose the option to capture screenshots as well.

^^^^^^ This
When I first used this app I had to do these steps, I found that it fixed my import issues with no errors. |
