I currently own someone else's book collection software. I'm not so happy with it.
Does All My Books support large batch imports?
Where are most book details downloaded from? (other company is having Amazon issues.)
Also - does anyone love or hate All My Movies? I'm looking for software for my husband's dvd collection. (He has a birthday coming up. )
Thanks,
Kate |

Hi, smudgeid!
Welcome to our community!
Yes, All My Books supports batch imports by ISBN only. Use menu "Book-Add using ISBN...", there's a checkbox "batch mode" there.
As for online databases, using AMB you can download details from Powells.com, BarnesAndNoble.com, Ozon.ru, Bol.de (apart from Amazon).

I would also like to know (as a pre-purchase question) if you can import from an Excel file? I have the old record from my previous software which I saved on a jump drive before my laptop crashed, and with over 400 books (not counting the DVDs on top of that!) that's a LOT of data entry, even with just ISBN/Barcode numbers. If there's a way to import even just the numbers from another file, I'm all but sold |
