I double clicked the sample and it still produces the exact same error message as before. What has me so baffled is the program was working flawlessly for a couple of days..... then I registered it and made my own database and added several hundred movies to it, no problems! That night I watched a movie and decided to change it's listing to "watched" .. that's when it crashed and refused to start. I've uninstalled it. reinstalled.... uninstalled and installed it to a different drive and each time it refuses to start up and gives the same error message. Arghhhhh !

as a temporary solution:

delete the value in the Windows registry:
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\filmoteka\MediaLocations

to do this you can download and execute this file

Tried the registery fix.......same error message. Searched for all reg keys linked to AMM or Bolide Software and removed them... then reinstalled the program clean again. same results with or without the reg patch. Tired all of the Office 2003 programs and they all work fine.. checked for any updates and they're all up to date. Did a clean boot of Windows and didn't allow Cursor XP or Window Blinds to load at startup...same error......Did a reboot to safe mode and even there it generates the same error message so my thought about a conflict with an existing program went down in flames.

Can you export the registry branch
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\filmoteka\
and send it to support@bolidesoft.com?

When you suggested the reg fix I downloaded your fix key and ran it.. then you asked for a copy of my reg string for filmoteka.... after I sent it I was looking at the reg and notized a loooooooong string of gibberish after the value for MediaLocations. Bingo ! Deleted the value and all is working now! You nailed it but instead of manually editing it I took the shortcut.... Embarassed
Thank you for a terrific program and your amazing help.
