|
|
My home setup is a small network with a Terabyte drive on one of the PCs holding all my movies & music. I'd like to watch a movie from any PC in the house.
This could be done by using a mapped logical drive letter in AMM or preferablly by allowing the use of UNC path names in the database. This way it would work for both the local machine and network machine. |

| Not sure what you are asking here. Seems like this is a not an AMM thing. AMM does not care where the files are. |

| RTGuy7, why can't you use the current AMM version to play any movie from your home network? Just make sure the Local Path field is valid for all of your movies |

| I can't seem to get the program to play videos that are stored on a network drive... When i select to "add movie from file" and select the file, the play button is greyed out. |

| Tried to see if this was fixed in version 3.9. It still has the same problem. The little green play button is "grayed" out if you are trying to play movies over a network. If you play the movies on the local computer everything is fine. |

Thanks Bolide! I've tried version 3.9 and you can now play movies on a network if you use UNC pathnames! However, if you map a network drive to a logical drive letter, the "green button" stays grayed out.
But, if you access the movie with UNC path names like
\\computer\share_dir\movie_dir\movie_name.ifo
everything works great! |
