I have a modest collection of movies on dvdr. I used a trial version of allmymovies and it was really good, exactly what I was looking for.

however a few things have stopped me from actually buying this software.

1. BAD Customer Service! It seems like the developers don't care about thier users. Very POOR customer service!! examples i have read are. Offering upgrades to everyone WITHOUT informing them they will have to repurchase an allready expensive license. Not the nicest move. Now it seems like there are alot of users stuck in trial mode with little to no help from Bolide after numerous requests for help.

2. EXPENSIVE. I was thinking around $20-30 CDN, turns out it will probably cost me almost $70 CDN. and I have to pay AGAIN for updates?? three words. [censored] THAT [censored].

I will be purchasing from the competition.

Hey Gus,

I have not, personally, had poor customer service from Bolide. I was really interested in their product, but after reading post-after-post of negative feedback in these forums, I decided to keep my money.

Don't get me wrong, I think they have a great product in AllMyMovies. But if I run into problems, like many of the users have who posted here, it seems like i'd be hung out to dry. My money is worth more than that.

I only signed up here to research this product before purchasing. I only posted my first post out of fustration because I wanted to like Bolide and purchase their software.

Oh well.

the update to version 5 was no surprise.
Before the update was installed it clearly stated that it was a major update.
In the agreement it say's that small update's are free.
Huge update's cost money.
So i think it's a little bit stupit to think a major update would be free.
And then, you can alway's decide to not do the update.

I do like AMM. Customer service just doesn't exist.....Major updates don't mean anything if you have to figure out the basics on your own with no support. Not that I expect to here anything......but, DVD music database other than IMDB or Amazon would be a great improvment! Get it together Bolide! Mad

If you buy a new car and the manufacturer brings out a better model the following year do you moan to them? i dont think so.

or a tv
or a graphics card
No? then what about computer games did you moan about counterstrike source when you had bought counterstrike. to be honest i bet you probably did but some of us take it as an inevitability that the product will improve and will therefore have to pay again.

AMM is great application, but today it falls behind the other competition.

It just needs big reform, for example, program downloads only first 15 actors, and then you have situation - in the The Lord of the Rings, there is no major actor in the movie, Elijah Wood. - Very bad

Also, there are no roles for actors in movie, no composer, no movie awards....

This post will probably be erased, but here are some totally free applications and they offer more then amm.... Personal video database, or movienizer...

For this price, you just have to beat competition
