I just purchased AMM and am loving it. I've spent 12 hours or so recently updating details of my collection and tried to compress to back it up for the first time. As soon as I selected compress, the database closed with an error and now I can't find it. If anyone knows how I might recover my lost database, please let me know, I have no backup and would otherwise have to start all over.

Thanks,
Michael

I have managed to recover the .amm file with an undelete utility. I wasn't able to run AllMyMovies though as it consistently froze at the splash screen. I uninstalled and reinstalled it, rebooted and got it to run again. It gives me an error when I try to open my recovered database though.

Hello,

I got the same problem.... twice already. And not only when compressing the DB. I lost my whole DB twice!
I also purchased the software but I wouldn't say I am happy with it.
It's buggy as hell (how come it is still based on an access DB?)
And how come I already have lost my DB twice?
This is not right.
Now I am managing my backups myself with an external batch that saves my file upon exiting. I think I shouldn't have come to this in the first place.
And one more thing, when I chose to scan my hard drive to import movie titles according to the folder's name, why the @$# does it have to do that according to the file extensions of the content of these folders?
Why doesn't it just scan the folder's names and that's it?
Just getting on my nerves.... Evil or Very Mad

I am now using Extreme movie manager and I gotta say I am impressed.
There is alomost too much features in it.
Very versatile and flexible.
This time I am gonna use the trial up to its limits.
And guess what, it has a feature that expedites the import of a list of movies without having to validate each link found. Very fast. And almost faultless. Just need very few and very minor adjustments after the import.
