I might be overlooking something, but I can't seem to import any names info (picture, filmography, etc) from one database into another. is there a way to do this?

I recommend take a look at this utility called AMM Database Manager.

The latest version has "Copy Movies" function which allows to copy movies (including actors, their bio, pictures) from one database to another. If download link in the forum topic not working, you can get it from the downloads section of Bolide Software website

Ah, I had not yet discovered this feature of your utility, though I've enjoyed its many other features. This worked great. Thank you very much for making AMM database manager available.
