How can i get rid of all the garbage listed in "genre" field? Must be 1000's of strange items listed there.....would take years to delete each one!

First of all, you should update to the latest AMM version.
http://www.bolidesoft.com/software/amm_setup.exe
We will add the feature for mass genre delete in the Preferences window in the next build |

I think it is out just this week:

For instance:
- added: select several genres and media locations at once in the Preferences window and delete them |
