Excuse me I don't speak english and I've a problem with All my Movies!

Mi rivolgo a chiunque capisca l'italiano.

E' possibile duplicare un record inserito?
Ad esempio la Serie di Streghe, episodio dopo episodio cambia solo la trama e poco altro.
Attualmente mi trovo a dover riscrivere ogni volta Attori, Regista, etc etc etc!

Esiste un Copia/Incolla di un Film già inserito ??? Rolling Eyes

Grazie a chiunque possa comprendere l'italiano e rispondermi (anche in inglese, non so scriverlo ma lo capisco).

I do not understand Italian, but with some help of online translators I think I can help you...

You want to copy a movie record, because you do not want to copy the same movie data every a new episode. All My Movies does not support duplication of a movie record, but I have a simple solution for you. Dmitry Stakhov has written a nice plugin called AMM Database Manager, which you can download for free. Wink

If you have one episode with all the necessary data, you can copy this episode as many times as you want. How you can do this, I will explain in the following steps.

1. Install the plugin (you need MS Access 2002 or higher),
2. Open the plugin,
3. Browse to your AMM database and open it,
4. Select the episode with all the information,
5. Click on the button Batch Operations,
6. Click on the button Copy Movies,
7. Click on the browse icon,
9. Open your AMM database file (the same as you opened in step 3),
8. Click on Copy (as many times as you want),
9. If you are done, click on the red X.

The new episodes are added to your AMM database and when you are done you can close the program. Now you can open your AMM database in All My Movies and add some missing information to the new episodes.

Thank you Cor for promoting my utility AMM Database Manager (I prefer to call it utility, because technically it is not a plugin). Indeed, you can use my utility for copying movie record within the same database (while this function was intended for copying movies to a different database), i.e. duplicating a movie record. However, such functionality does exist within AMM itself, it is just not exposed anywhere in the menu. To duplicate a movie you just need to use a keyboard shortcut CTRL+D.

In addition, it is better to download the latest version of AMM Database manager from here. The latest version is 2.5 from Jan 7, 2008. There is lot more functionality was added since the first version. I didn't bother to post description of updates and new features on this forum, because since I offered the utility for AMM users, there was no feedback on this forum. So I assumed that nobody is interested. It is nice to know that at least somebody is using Database Manager. On the contrary, in the russian forum there were a number of users who expressed interest in the utility, provided a lot advice and new ideas, helped to find bugs and improve utility overall.
If you have any questions or suggestions about functions of AMM Database Manager please post your replies in the forum topic AMM Database Manager. Thanks.

You are welcome! I use your utility mainly for batch operations. Wink
Sorry, my mistake, I did not know about the shortcut CTRL+D. Thank you for mention it, it works like a charm!

Well, the latest version of AMM is 4.6, but this shortcut worked for a long time, since version 4.0. Are you sure, you doing it right? Click on a movie in the list, press CTRL and while holding CTRL press D. As for AMM Database Manager, it is true you need MS Access 2003 to use it, but if you are really interested, contact me on ICQ 428319575 and I can compile Access 2000 version for you.

Thank you Embarassed .. Troppo gentili.. Cor, Datasource .. Wink

Il grosso problema:

CTRL + E x modificare: FUNZIONA (WORK)
CTRL + A x add cartoline: NON FUNZIONA (don't work) .. SE clicco con il mouse FUNZIONA!
CTRL + D x duplicare il film: NON FUNZIONA (dont' work) .. Shocked Shocked Shocked .. ma qui purtroppo non esiste una funzione con il click del mouse!!

You are right about CTRL+A shortcut - instead of "Add Screenshot" function, it selects the whole list. But CTRL+D works for me. I can suggest a workaround - use "Database->Append from..." function (Database->Aggiungi da...). Point to the same database you have currently open in AMM, unselect all movies, check only the movie you want to duplicate and click OK. This will effectively duplicate the movie.

Strange that it does not work with your version of All My Movies... Confused
Do you maybe use a 'special' Italian keyboard? Than I can image that the letter D means something else and that AMM does not recognize it when you click CTRL + D...
