|

hey there,
I loved this software, the best feature is to scan your drive for movies, saves alot of time spent on typing if you store tonnes of movies on your system.
The problem iam having here is that after adding those tonnes of movies "allmymovies" doesnt give me an option to auto update all movies from IMDB, something like the movie collectors option to update automatically.
Is there anyway that i could get info for all my movies easily instead of selecting each.
thnx alot |

I have 800+ DVD's to add and when I bought the software I thought I could also "auto update" all the DVD titles I inputted but I did not see this feature. At first I was mad but then I thought there is no way this can be done because I came across so many of my DVD's that had multiple titles and variations. For example, if you put in The Matrix and had AMM "auto update" it, it would come back with titles such as:
-The Matrix
-The Matrix Reloaded
-The Matrix Revolutions
-The Matrix Revisited (V)
-Enter the Matrix
-The Matrix Online
-Sex and The Matrix
and about a dozen others. It cannot read your mind.
Now I am new to this and I may be wrong but this is what I have found out so far. It is time consuming but worth it after you have it all done. So far it is a good program. Not great, but good.
Good luck |

I have the same problem.
However it would be relatively easy to auto update all new movies from IMDB and set a flag if there was a choice of more than one, so then you could go back and fix the ones likely to be wrong, in management terms we call this "managing by exception", it's the only way to handle a large volume.
I have spent 3 weeks doing 900 movies and I have a further 8000 left to do, not to mention 2.5 terabytes of TV series. Living in Thailand I can pay someone 10 dollars a day to do this, but it's still a big big task.
Maybe I should start a business here doing this for you guys, you email me your cataloge and we email it back populated with IMDB/DVDEMPIRE records? |

| I think we will add a bit of artificial intelligence to All My Movies soon. It should decrease search results amount and more often to select the movie automatically. |
