Hi all,

I've designed a template based on the 'modern' template that combines with Media Player Classic's web interface to allow you to launch movies from the web. However, setting this up takes some tweaking, as MPC has to be set up correctly, and the template needs to be modified per machine (if you want to be able to access it from another machine).

What I'm wondering is, is there any interest out there for this functionality? I don't know how many people use All My Movies to browse (and launch) movie files stored on the hard disk. I'd be willing to post the template along with a tutorial if this is something people want. I find it very slick myself - I can fire up a browser on any PC in my house (or anywhere in the world really, since I have a domain name registered to my HTPC), browse the movies using the classy Modern template (though the template modifications are minimal - this functionality can be added to any template fairly easily), click on the movie title or cover image, and have it immediately begin playing fullscreen on my TV.

Let me know if this interests you. If I get enough responses, I'll begin writing the tutorial.

Thanks,
Withen

I would be very interested in a web-based front end for launching movies. I'm also pretty handy with both HTML and flash if either can be of use in helping you out.

Hello,

I have all my movies in ISO format on a large storage system. I would like to find out if your method of auto launching a program to view movies would work for this. I am trying to find a program tha would allow me to view a webpage from a remote computer on the local network to view and play movies from a web page view with the movie information and link to start to the play of the movie. I am thinking that what you are saying in this thread will do that. Is there any chance of you sending me the instructions on how you did this please.

Thanks allot in advance
Mokanna

I have been searching for this code as well. I can't seem to find the code to launch an external application (play an avi file) from a html page.
Everything pertains to embedded video.
I would like to play my files from the exported templates.
Clicking on the poster sounds great to launch movie.
Could you me the instructions? Much appreciated.
