Dear AMM,

Somewhere along the last update the program started to download a bunch of garbage adding it my preferences. It adds a lot of information that is not relevant to the Genre, Country, etc.
Now whithin the Genre category I have over 50 names of countries, actors, etc. that don't belong there...

Please download BABEL and you will get all of the actors, color, countries, etc. added to your preferences in GENRE…Then where the country ID is located you will get tons of garbage as well…

Is there any way of locking our preferences so that ONLY WHAT I WANT will be downloaded? ….It really takes a lot of time and is very annoying having to edit all the garbage.

How do I prevent the program from downloading SCREENSHOTS?

I am using the latest update and I still don't see the INDIVIDUALIZED buttons that you promised for this version, the SCROLLING BUG is also there (See my postings and your responses from November 16th-2006 and January 8, 2007). Crying or Very sad

Best Regards,

azuaro

Just tried to load BABEL (2006) details with the latest (1235) build and it works fine for me

Holding Shift key will prevent you of loading screenshots. In the next build there will be a special checkbox in Preferences

Same here

It's not specific for nor caused by BABEL.
With me it started when I made a second database, just to see how to transport entries from one database to another.
The second database immediately showed the problem (with every movie I tried!!) and after 'stupid me' transported one entry to the first database the same problem reveiled itself there.
It appears to be a bug in the program (not a problem of misreading the information on the internet).

That would be a good idea, but I think the problem can and should otherwise be fixed (you wouldn't want to be editing or setting preferences every time you download an entry....)

By the way, the preferences window gets cluttered by the same garbage.
Hopefully it can be fixed....
Greetings,
Jodude

Stupid me again!
I have build 1231, so no, not the latest.

That particular problem is solved by 1235 (I hope for Azuaro as well), but now there's a new problem of quite a different nature:
If I add a movie more often then not the original title and title are replaced by the word WaReZ and I have to replace that word several times by editing the entry before the right title sticks.

This is getting weirder and weirder ....

...and my built 1231 didn't have the problem at first so why is it suddenly acting up I wonder ......

I upgraded to V3.95 Build 1214 and it has the same problems noted above. Can this be fixed without upgrading to 4.1?

I was perfectly happy with amm before V3.95 upgrade. No problems.

I was getting this same WaReZ problem all of a sudden with Version 4.0. I must admit I was running a pirate version of the program and just figured that the key was blacklisted and the software called home and Bolide did something to it. So, I "Came Clean" and bought 2 copies so I can run it on my two pc's at home. I D/L the latest version and still the same thing. If I add a movie it does it sometimes but If I edit a movie and click the left and right arrows in the window it will start adding WaReZ to just about every movie that comes up. Someone Please Fix this problem. I have over 500 movies in my database and can't afford to rebuild it.

jeez it seems Bolide's program security measures are causing problems for real customers. That doesn't sound too appealing to a possible buyer like myself. I hope something is done about this, but it seems there are even more posts of this nature........

"WaReZ" problem will dissapear automatically after several movie details lookup with the legal registration key.

Illegal users will always be in trouble with using AMM, sorry.

I unstalled V 3.95 and reinstalled what I thought was a previous version. It too was 3.95 so I am screwed.

I am not at all happy to pay for software only to have the developer render it useless without upgrading to a "New" verson. If I have to purchase new software, althought I really like amm, I will look elsewhere.

I'm having the "Genre" garbage problem, as well, even with Build 1237 (yes, non-pirated).

The program seems to be picking up the actors, comments, etc. from the "new-look" IMDB.com format, rather than the actual genre. The result is you end up with dozens of new genre entries with each new movie addition.

Any thoughts on how to resolve this?

Just checked with the movie 300 and it seems to work fine for me.

Please, tell me themovie titles you got wrong results for.

Thanks!

Bolide:

The error occurs with ANY and ALL new movie entries, including "300" (I have tried literally dozens of titles, as well as a number of combinations of uninstalls, restarts, clean re-installs, etc. with no luck of resolving the issue.)

This makes the software essentially unusable, as it requires significant manual entry and formatting (or careful deletion of hundreds of bogus fields), which largely defeats the purpose of the program.

I am using XP Pro x64, and IE version 7.0.5730.11, by the way. Is this an issue with 64-bit and/or IE 7 compatibility, by chance? (Although this error was NOT present in previous builds--i.e. 3.9 and below--on the 64-bit platform).

I am tempted to say that it was related to the recent change in the IMDB.com format, since it corresponds roughly with the time period when the error began. Also, the (albeit inferior quality) data pulled from DVDEmpire with the plug-in from your website does NOT add the garbage that is pulled from IMDB.

Another possibility may be my ad-blocking hosts file, which blocks most advertising banners and ads on websites (including IMDB) from loading. Would this affect the HTML format and therefore affect the data that AMM pulls from the IMDB website? I'm not sure, but I'm just trying to brainstorm reasons why my system may continue to have the error when others seem to have resolved it with the latest build.

Don't get me wrong, I love the program (when it worked in the weeks prior to purchasing a license and obtaining an "upgrade" to 4.1), and have invested significant time in cataloging my titles. However, I need to know if you can successfully reproduce and subsequently address the issue, or I will be have to start looking into the possibility of a refund of the purchase price.

Thanks for your time and efforts.

I have tested much build 1237 with IMDb, but got no wrong results.
I don't think your hosts file or 64 bit system can affect on HTML obtained from IMDb.com.

Do you have an account on IMDb? Try to log out and then add some movie in your collection
