Upon installing version 7, the program worked for 1 day. I haven't paid for the new update yet, but when I try to run the program after being on the computer for 1 day, it crashes and windows states it needs to be close error. I tried to install 6.9 on top of it, and it wouldn't run either. So what I did was completely uninstall the 6.9 and erase all entries in the registry by using iobit uninstall. I re-installed 6.9 and now its working perfectly.

My question is, should a person uninstall the 6.9 before installing 7.0? Has anybody else have the same problem? I am running windows xp pro. (32).

This is a great program, but there maybe bugs in the new 7.0 program.

Hi!
To install AMM 7.0, you don't need to remove the old one. However since cleaning the registry worked fine, the registry settings could be interesting. If the problem with crashing happens again, will you write to support team through the form on the site?

I believe I found the problem. I had used my printer for a usb port for the backup of my database. It remembered that location even though there was no flash chip in the port. I then changed the usb port to the internal one on the computer, and now it doesn't do the crash. I think if I'm not mistaken if there isn't a backup chip it errors out and then the crash occurs. I'll be checking it out further since it occurred on the 6.9 startup. I'm using a network drive for the database so that my other computers can access it also. (My internal usb ports failed for some reason so I used the printer usb port, and I'm still investigating that one also).

I hope that make sense.

Update: Upon a little bit further, it seems the database changes with the new 7.0 version. I'm unable to get any of my computers to connect to the updated database that are using 6.9, and the only one capable now is the 7.0 version. Does the Database change with the new 7.0 version?

My problem was that I was trying to run two different versions. One or more computers running 6.9 and the other one 7.0.... Once I converted all the computers over to 7.0, the problems of crashing quit. Just a learning experience so the problems have been solved. (I have one common database which all the computers access.

The 6.9 just couldn't work with the new updated database....

Hi maonstad, were you able to find a good work around on this yet? This issue looks deep by looking at it at first glance.

What I had to do is update all my computers with a common database to 7.0. Once I did that, everything worked fine. I found that if you had one version (6.9) it would cause problems. Just update the new version over the old and everything is working fine. So far, no crashes. It was a learning experience but mixing of the versions was the main problem. I have since than registered my copy at 1/2 price.

I hope that answers your question.
