I tried yesterday to add a movie in “mkv” format in my existing database and I was surprised that it’s impossible.
I got the error message: “Can not open the format. Codec is missing eventually”.
Mad If I try to playback the movie there are no problems (VLC 1.1.2). It’s only problem with database insert…..
Well I’m not a friend of some codec packs, because I made almost everytime a bad experience, so I want to know which codec
exactly is missing. Well it's funny because I already added 2 mkv movies in my database and there were no problems. But after new install of windows 7 it doesn't work anymore.... Shocked
AMM 4.9 Build 1255

Can anyone help me?

Thx

Hi!

Unfortunately, version 4.9 doesn't have a stable mkv-format support.

Hi,

I am currently checking out the 30 day trial of Allmymovies. I was especially interested in adding german DVDs/Blurays and MKVs.

DVD and Bluray works fine. But as mentioned above the MKV does not work. Same message "Format not recognized...". I am using AMM 6.0 Build 1300. Any solutions?

regards

It works fine, there may be a problem with codecs for you...
Try to tick the option "Do not render video files with DirectShow" in Preferences, Expert options tab. This should help.
