Hi guys,
Looks like Collectorz have decided to remove their most useful function in version 6 (they're removing information lookup from IMDB, Amazon, DVD Empire, etc) and going to rely solely on their own (Beta version) Collectorz database. So I've decided to look at other options and was wonderinfg if there are any "former" Collectorz users and how My Movies compares? My main concern is information lookup from the above sources and HTML export.

I too agree, the Collectorz product v4 was great, they introduced their database in ver 5 and removed all of them in ver6. I have been actively looking for a replacement.

This one looks pretty good except it seems a lot more costly, $50 for the product plus another $20 for the adult plug in and that only last one year! However, the alternative of keyin them all in manually is scary.

Also, i noticed there is a free plugin to convert from Collectorz to AllMyMovies; I will give this a try this week.

try the software, its free for 30 days and I don't believe it has the 50 limit as mc.

I looked at the Collectorz products and decided on All My Software (I have All My Movies, All My Books, All My Software and Image Comparer) and have generally been pretty happy with them. There are a couple of things I'd like a bit differently but it is certainly a good deal better than the one I previously used (I wrote my own but like this one better).

I think you will be much happier using a product that relies on commercial databases for its data than a proprietary one that may or may not continue to be supported in the future.

Now if I can get them to do a version for CDs using the CDDB I'll send them more money. Laughing

I don't think so. But every person has his loved program!!! Very Happy
And, more important, i don't have to pay for it!!. VisualDivX it's free. You can't say the same.
